Description
This belongs to Heinemann's pocket edition, which, according to Stott, was scarce in his time. There are all together 16 volumes. They were published more or less at the same time of the Collected Edition, and are supposedly smaller and cheaper. The prefaces are identical to those of the Collected Edition, Stott notes. The collection was discontinued because of WWII.
The preface is different from the 1955 revised edition. As Maugham mentions, the objectionable parts of the first editions have been put back in this edition.
